Taylor Hill's Portfolio

Hello!
My name is Taylor! I am a Fashion Merchandising student at Mississippi State University with a minor in Marketing, driven by the intersection of creativity and data-driven decision-making. Through my experience with Altar’d State, I have supported buying and merchandising teams by analyzing sell-through and sales performance, placing purchase orders, communicating with vendors, and assist in using performance data to inform reorders, fit feedback, and product refinement.
I bring a unique balance of creative intuition and analytical thinking—I combine a strong eye for trends and product presentation with an understanding of sales data, customer preferences, and day-to-day buying operations. My goal is to bring both creative thinking and analytical skills to a buying & merchandising team, helping build well-balanced assortments, support vendor relationships, and contribute to a brand’s long-term growth.
My Story
My journey with fashion began at a young age, when I first discovered my love for creativity and self-expression through style. Even as a little girl, I had an innate sense of fashion and a deep appreciation for the art of design. Initially, I thought my path would lead me to fashion design, and I immersed myself in learning to sew and create garments from scratch. While I enjoyed the process, I soon realized that design wasn’t my true calling.
My passion for fashion, however, remained unwavering. It was then that I discovered the dynamic world of fashion merchandising, and I instantly knew I had found my true path. I was captivated by the way trends, consumer behavior, and product strategy all intertwined to shape the industry. To further enhance my understanding of the business side of fashion, I decided to minor in marketing, and quickly found myself just as passionate about it as I am about fashion itself.
I’m fascinated by the strategic thinking and creativity that drive the fashion industry. From market analysis to brand positioning, I love the challenge of blending my artistic side with business acumen to create compelling fashion experiences. Every step of my journey has deepened my commitment to the world of fashion, and I am more excited than ever to continue exploring the endless possibilities it offers.
